For the past eight years, I’ve taught English and coached Academic Decathlon on Whitney M. Young Magnet High School in Chicago.

I work with student writing every day. By my estimate, I’ve graded approximately 20,000 papers and workshopped hundreds of admissions essays for college-bound seniors. I am genuinely committed to developing student voice and believe that anyone can write a great essay if they’re willing to put in the time and energy.
